Good Evening all you fellow bloggers!
Now it has been a long time since I last updated my blog (6 months!!!!!!), I guess I haven’t really kept my new years resolutions, but hey ho!
Today I want to talk brushes. Now who doesn’t love a good brush? Because I know I do! Recently, I purchased some new tools to add to my ever growing collection which I thought I would share with you.
Real Techniques Bold Metals
Now these brushes are a god send, and definitely worth a purchase. Although slightly on the pricey side, there are always ebay alternatives…
There are currently 7 bold metal brushes in the shops, 3 silver, 2 gold and 2 rose gold. The packaging on these brushes is really sleek and cute, with a good weight. They are super soft, as in I can’t stop stoking my self with them, and don’t malt.
The brushes themselves have some unusual shapes, which is what attracted me to them in the first place! The 2 gold ones are face brushes, including a rather large, fluffy and amazingly soft powder brush and a dense triangular foundation brush. The 3 silver brushes are for eyes and include a wonderfully soft blending brush, a dense crease brush, and a thin eyebrow brush. I love this eyebrow brush, as it is really thin – making the application really easy! The final 2 brushes are rose gold, and I believe are finishing brushes but I’m not really sure tbh! Included are a rounded blush/highlight brush and a short, stubby powder brush. I’m not really sure of the purpose for the short brush although I like to use it to pack on powder under my eyes for baking!
Now this is another rather pricey brush, however once again there are definitely more favorable alternatives online. This brush is the bomb! LITERALLY!! I love this brush to piece, from its sophisticated packaging, to its soft bristle, right down to the shape! I have so much love for this brush right now!
I always reach for this brush during my daily routine, to apply contour with. The brush gives a sharp contour which I then blend out with another brush to make it more natural.
Real Techniques Miracle Complex Sponge
While this is strictly not a makeup brush, this is one hundred percent an important tool I reach for. Priced rather reasonably compared with the famous Beauty Blender, the RT Miracle Complex Sponge is very high up there. Now, while I prefer the shpae of the beauty Blender, the price means I am consistently reaching for the RT sponge.
The sponge itself is super springy, and when damp gently applies my foundation and concealer. I like to apply my base products with my fingers and then buff it out with the sponge. It is also useful to buff out cream contour when I have the time!
And there we have it! Here’s a couple of new brushes I got in recently and am thoroughly enjoying using them as part of my beauty routine.
See you soon and keep smiling 🙂
